TCEB unlocks the MICE potential of Rayong province through the EEC MICE FAM Trip 2025 organized with the concept of “EEC MAXIMICE THE FUTURE” expanding the EEC MICETROPOLIS from Pattaya to Rayong. The event presents all dimensions of MICE experiences in Rayong and the potential to develop local economies in the EEC zone with Rayong ready to become a high value-added destination. The EEC Expo 2025 is organized simultaneously to present investment opportunities in target industries and future services to attract global investors to the EEC.
Dr. Supawan Teerarat, President, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, said the government has a strategic plan to develop the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) to make Thailand a regional hub of manufacturing, investment and logistics and a gateway to Asia. The MICE industry (covering meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) is an important engine of the national economy. It plays important roles at the regional level and the national level where the EEC is a key strategic zone.
TCEB responds to the policy of the government by supporting efforts to make the EEC an economic center. TCEB organizes the “EEC MICE FAM Trip 2025” with the concept of “EEC MAXIMICE THE FUTURE” in Rayong province. The event is aimed to expand the EEC MICETROPOLIS from Chon Buri-Pattaya to Rayong and promote Thailand from a land of “value for money” to be the world’s high value-added MICE destination.
“The EEC is an area of strategic significance for the country. TCEB has been collaborating with local organizations to support MICE activities covering meetings, exhibitions, trade fairs of various forms, megaevents and festivals in sustainable manners. It has also been developing the resources of the EEC – its personnel, business operators and infrastructures – to ready it for MICE. The development will make the EEC a destination of international business activities which will continuously generate economic value and distribute income to communities, in addition to the EEC’s status as a major base of manufacturing and investment.”
Dr. Supawan said that the EEC MICE FAM Trip 2025 is organized to present the potential of Rayong and create special experiences in this eastern province which can become a new MICE city. The trip is realized with the concept of “MAXIMICE THE FUTURE”. It shows the capabilities of Rayong in five dimensions namely communities, food, innovation, bio-circular-green economy (BCG) and wellness as follows.
MAXIMICE OPPORTUNITIES – Investment and business negotiation opportunities are opened up in the EEC Expo 2025. This important forum gathers the potential of the EEC, infrastructures, target industries in the future, megaprojects and partners’ networks. The exposition presents relevant information through state-of-the-art exhibitions and international seminars. It focuses on target industries and future services.
MAXIMICE COMMUNITIES – Local identities are promoted to generate income for communities. Trip participants visit a community-based enterprise of stingless bee farmers in Ban Thapma village. The stingless beekeeping community indicates the resource richness of the locality which strengthens the status of Rayong as a province of sustainability. Products from stingless bees are the superfood that can be developed into high-value products and generate income for local people. As well, there is a creative dessert from the MICE Coffee Break project. Local ingredients are used to make “Pollen Bar Fruit Cake” (one of four Best Award winners) which “MAXIMICE” experiences and knowledge and supports the sustainability of the local economy and the community.
MAXIMICE EXPERIENCES – Taste of Rayong – A chef who is of Rayong origin has elevated local food to give luxury culinary experiences. A dinner is held at a café situated in a century-old Sino-Portuguese building constructed in 1913. The structure of the building was well conserved when it was transformed into Laan Ek Coffeehouse which also accommodates temporary exhibitions and MICE activities for local people.
MAXIMICE THE VALUE – The “Miracle of Natura” is a temperate flower garden that PTT LNG has created innovatively with waste cold from liquefied natural gas (LNG). The garden has become a new tourist attraction in the community of the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate. The winter flower garden is in accordance with the BCG economy model on the maximum use of existing resources.
MAXIMICE EXPERIENCES OF WELLNESS – Bodies and minds are recharged with the Sound Bath at Hotel Fuse Rayong, the first holistic wellness hotel of the province. The hotel offers extraordinary experiences to MICE travelers and boosts the positive image of Thailand as a destination for wellness-focused MICE activities.
“Rayong has the perfect combination of terrains, cultures and future industries. Therefore, the province is ready to host all types of MICE events in the future. It also supports TCEB’s roles in stimulating ‘MICE for economy’, distributes income to communities and elevates the image of Thailand from being a land of ‘value for money’ to be a high value-added MICE destination of the world,” Dr. Supawan concluded.
